Application Deadline : 20Â December 2021.
Job description
The Laboratory for in situ nanomaterials characterization with electrons (INE) at the Institute of Materials at EPFL invites applications of highly motivated individuals to investigate the local induced defects in modified topological insulators both in bulk and two dimensional structures. The aim is to understand fabrication approaches that can be used to increase the bulk resistivity of topological materials. The project is in collaboration with materials synthesis experts at the University of Nova Gorica, Slovenia. More generally, project includes development of methods for local investigation of dopant atoms using the transmission electron microscopes at CIME.
Person specification
Candidates should hold a PhD in materials science, physics, or a related discipline. Previous demonstrated, hands-on experience with electron microscopes (TEM and FIB) is preferred.
Application process
Applicants should send their CV and at least two contacts of references by email to Prof. Tileli .
The position is available immediately and applications will be considered until the position is filled.
This is a one-year term position that is renewable based upon mutual agreement.
